The New iPod Nano: Is it really an upgrade?
In checking out the specs for the new iPod Nano, it’s hard to see how this is really an upgrade from the 5th generation Nano.
I’m wondering why Apple has decided that Nano users want a touch screen, more than they want the ability to record and play videos. It’s like Apple was thinking, “Whoops, we made the 5th gen too good! Let’s try to get people to think that having a touch screen is better than a click wheel.” But who really cares about that?! They’re not even giving us any extra storage space . . . except if you consider that they’ve made it smaller, so you can store more in your pockets . . . but smaller also means that it’s easier to lose . . . so you’ll buy a new one.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that Apple is losing my favor–I just don’t see why they’re taking away the features that I’ve come to love, just to introduce multi-touch and a built-in belt clip.
So, why does this matter to us here at the studio? Well, we’ve been making some awesome senior slideshows that we thought would be great to put on your iPods to show friends as you’re out and about. 6th Gen Nano users can’t do that now. Sorry guys.
